Director of Construction for South Florida
Marco Ferreira

Marco Ferreira brings over 20 years of experience to his role as Director of Construction for South Florida for NRI where he directs the construction activities of the Gables Station project.

Marco earned his Master’s Degree in Construction Management from Florida International University.  Over the course of his career, he has been involved in over $1 billion in construction projects that enabled him to gain a keen understanding of each project’s life cycle, from development through operation.

Originally from Los Angeles, Marco began his career in a family-owned construction business where he gained a vast scope of industry knowledge.  In 1996, he relocated to Miami when his career accelerated in build construction, and he worked for a single, national general contractor for 17 years.

Marco served as a Project Manager on the FDOT Miami Intermodal Center, a project totaling $450 million, connected to the Miami International Airport.  He also oversaw a CM at Risk on a $450 million Airport Expansion project at the Fort Lauderdale International Airport, served as a Senior Project Manager for a $150 million high rise in downtown Miami, and managed a team on a $400 million project with Harrah’s Cherokee Hotel and Casino that included a luxury, 21-floor hotel tower expansion.  His work has led him to projects in New York, Virginia, and North Carolina as well.

Marco was elected as the Chair of the South Florida Young Constructors Forum (YCF) during its inaugural year and later as the Chairman of the National Board of the YCF.  He has also been invited to sit on the South Florida AGC Board.  In addition, Marco actively gives back to the community by participating in Habitat for Humanity and other construction-sponsored events benefiting underprivileged seniors, families, and children.
